Job Description

B. Job Objective

To lead the plant manufacturing function (solution preparation, production, printing & packing) which includes strong people and process development in order to achieve plant budgets in terms of production quantity, productivity targets with consistent quality.

C. Primary responsibilities

Strategic and planning
Cascade the macro manufacturing plan shared by Central Planning and create a micro plant level plan in order to achieve the budgeted volumes as per the quality norms and timelines.


Mucilage preparation:

- Review the five day production plan and ensure adherence to the same
- Coordinate with supply chain, production and plant head to manage escalations
- Provide infrastructural support as required in coordination with Plant Head
- Review performance and quality standards for mucilage preparation

Production, Printing and Packing

- Review production efficiency and volume as per budgeted norms
- Initiate and review corrective actions to maintain efficiency as required
- Ensure adherence to quality standards for all products & processes
- Identifying the areas for improvement in entire manufacturing process

Printing and Packing

- Review production efficiency and volume as per budgeted norms
- Initiate corrective actions to maintain efficiency as required
- Ensure adherence to quality standards for all products & processes
- Identifying the areas for improvement in entire manufacturing process
- Ensure print quality as per the defined norms
- Resource planning (cameras, printing machines etc.)
Daily coordination between various activities of mucilage preparation, production & printing/packing activities to address the internal needs
Monitoring and review of all manufacturing losses
Driving improvement plans for quality & quantity in manufacturing areas. This will also include driving initiatives for Cont. Improvement & TTT for implementation of new projects/manufacturing of new products.
Implementation of safety initiatives to ensure safe workplace
Review and analysis of data for identifying activities for improvement across mucilage preparation, production, printing and packing
Keep the manufacturing facility fit for purpose and take action as required with support from internal/external agencies
Support QA for customer and regulatory audits
Conducts Root cause analysis and reviews CAPA implementation in case of customer complaints
Internal process
- Ensure cost optimization in manufacturing (RM, power, water, manpower)
- Coordination with Engineering Service and maintenance, EHS, Supply chain, and quality in order to ensure seamless functioning of the manufacturing process
- Adherence to SOPs for entire manufacturing area
People development
Take overall responsibility for people development initiatives and building up in-house capabilities for the employees in the department
Drive a performance driven culture in the team by timely monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to the team members
Contribute towards development of talent for the department by providing subordinates with adequate exposure and growth opportunities to enable readiness for higher roles
Actively participate in HR initiatives to drive overall employee engagement and motivation
Support capability development programs of ACPL by identifying and recommending the training areas for the team
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

G. Educational and Experience Requirements

Minimum Requirement Desired

Level of Education B.E Mechanical MBA in Operations
Experience 10-15 years of experience in continuous manufacturing process Six Sigma Green Belt Certified

Desired Candidate Profile

Priorities of various competencies or skills or any specific requirement: Knowledge of solution preparation, production, maintenance, ATS, printing; experience in handling a team size of around 20-30 subordinates
